If you don't know AKR, you should. Her adult memoir called The Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life is one of my all-time favorite reads (it's hilarious, especially if you grew up in the late 60s and 70s)...and her children's books are wise, funny, quirky, and creative. She's got four more kids' books out...or coming out soon.
