The cover for Thirsty is done (and I love it). I've got a decent author photo (I think...at least it's the best I can do without a face double). I've reviewed the edited manuscript. And now...four and a half months from publication...I'm buried in pre-publication marketing madness. The major project on my plate today (and tomorrow and the day after that) is to write copy for the Thirsty website. It's a lot of copy...some fun, some not-so-fun.
Between being a good, present, centered mom to Tully and the load of work set before me, I'm feeling overwhelmed.
So...I've decided I'm going to enlist the help of my clone.
My clone?
Ah, you forget, I live in China where all things are copied quickly and um, somewhat efficiently. And I mean everything: movies, purses, cars, cigarettes, mooncakes, Tommy Bahama shirts, Harry Potter books, etc.
Thus, my clone.
My husband, of course, insists one of me is more than enough.
Ha! I say. The more me's, the merrier.
We'll see.
If the copy of me is anything like some of the purses I've bought at the Hongqiao Pearl Market, my nose or my big toe should fall off or cease to work properly right about....now.
And if the copy of me is anything like some of the movies I buy on the corner for RMB 5, I should start speaking either Norwegian or Russian any minute.
Do svidaniya!
